Hi Cliff, The dealer got back to me and said, that is not a good idea to tow any automatic transmission, even when it’s in neutral.
Look like your choice is narrowed down.

4k should take an hour to walk at a gentle amble.
Leave home earlier, and enjoy the countryside from the roadside.

My suggestion would be make up a small trailer just big enough for the quad and leave it with the quad at the secure storage. Chuck a light bar in the boot instead of wiring up the trailer..

Or look at a way to ride the quad from where it is stored to where you use it.

why not register quad its a A cat for atv cost about $105 first with plate and 35 pa after that not continues reg so can leave for 11mths before renewing allowed up to 15 ks on road . Lets me tow my boat 1k to ramp with quad all legal .

actually you only need to pushbike once on arrivl and once on departure.... park CAR at block,ride bike to get quad
when home time take CAR to storage,bike back to get quad....and leave bike there for next time...
or take quad to storage,bike back to collect car,chuck bike on bike rack n go home
4kms on push bike is a breaze in all but pissing down with rain...

Pruning ladder, gas bottle, 3000w generator, 20l water container, backpack sprayer, 40l camp fridge (sometimes), a slab of lion brown, 2 chainsaws, scrub bar, fuel for those, spare slab of lion brown, power tools, a couple of rifles, usually a dozen or so native seedlings.
