If you are chartering a boat to take you over they'll possibly tow it. If its decent weather, you'll easily take it over yourself tho.
A 5.5 metre boat may be too big to load on the back but I'm not sure, the last time we went down we took a 5 metre stabi on the back of the boat we went down on.
I'm drawn to the mountains and the bush, it's where life is clear, where the world makes the most sense.
We have discussed driving across but given time restraints and murphys law we thought we may end up stuck either side waiting for a weather window. Do you have any suggestions as to which charter operators to try?
Cheers
The freight boat will take it for sure, then you can run up and down the shore, you'll get a long way in a 5.5 as long as you watch the wind/tide conditions (a tidal atlas is essential for small craft in Stewart is waters)
Cheers guys will look into it
Try Ian on Aurora.
He took our stability across
Darn near same size as yours
Or the freighter she can drop off at Oban and then its just fuel from there
