    Interesting my Pajero had done 70K on its current set before I punctured one with a rock, Replaced 2 to keep them balanced and front 2 have now done another 10K and still OK but not great. Before I got it the truck was owned (still is) by my brother ( hes a great brother to loan me his truck indefinitely) and most of the driving on the original tyres was open road type driving between Ashburton and Christchurch

    Had good rides on my Suzuki. Ok off road. Noisy on road Not the best over 80 kms per hour. Seemed to ride hard. Seemed easy to lock up the fronts as well. Chingaling get what you pay for. Maxxis. Had two sets they are my go to now

    Running Maxxis but have noticed that the side walls seem softer than the previous set.

    Cooper Discovery S/T at $315 each fitted on the Triton. An A/T tyre that's abit more open, but same tread pattern as BFG T/A. You can hear a hum when on asphalt, but quiet enough on seal. They've done 30 km and without measuring the tread, I'd hazard a guess to say they'll get 80km easy enough. Good manners on road.
    Going yo put some cheap MT's on Hilux as they'll perish before being worn out. It only does about 10km a yr. Looking at Goodrides, but the Maxxis was only $10 per corner dearer. Although they were looking at $215 each. I'll be doing more phoning around. I thought 31-10.5x15 was the most common size and cheap as chips, but apparently they're going out of vogue

    How much tread depth do you have left after 80k? Once a mud tyre is half worn, the performance off-road is getting pretty average

    Not much..ok for trailer. Don't really do any deep mud, but if I'm going across a paddock, I'm going to make it, either with right boot, or common sense. The Hilux does the wet muddy stuff

    A hard ride and locking up the front sounds like they were slightly too high pressure perhaps? Maxxis make top rubber. They're the in tip top of MTB tyres, and those kids really do push it

    My truck had well worn BFG a/t when I got it, went for maxis mudshots? Middle of the range ones, happy enough with them. Had the same ones my mu and they went well

    we sell the goodrides as well customers seem to get a good run out of them ive tried a few different brands on the Suzuki and get the best run out of nangkang ats

    I looked at Goodrides for when my Kumho set wear out. (KL71 MT) problem is the Kumhos have not worn out yet and dont look to be about to start...then I got a spare set of Desert dueler AT for round town as well so it will have to wait. Oh the problem of two sets of wheels for your ride....

    Thought about going that way but decided I couldn't be bothered swapping all the time, guaranteed I'll have the road tires on when I decide to go explore a little dirt track...

    Hey @gadgetman , in all honesty I have never really had much to do with the Goodride product , cant stand the supplier and told them to shove it up their ass , cheap tyre but that's a bloody cheap price , I tend to stick to more reputable brands that I know and have run myself....after all tyres are the only thing keeping you on the road and when things turn dicey I want to have complete confidence in the rubber.
    Some of the other expensive brands that have been mentioned I have my doubts in at times if they really are viable on a cost per k basis.
    Whatever you do you cant go past a light truck construction (10ply) as that's where a lot of the mileage comes from and are a lot tougher to deflect a lot of the annoying punctures! Just don't go running high pressure as they can then handle like a walrus on the beach!!

    I was filling the tyres on my push bike on the way to work one day and waited for a guy to pump up the big droney mud tyres tyres on his sparkling clean 4wd (Prado or Pajero-I can remember which) A fairly new one too by the look of it. When he hung the hose up so I could use it it was set at 65 psi. I wound it down to 30 for my MTB and said Hi and commented something like " Are you sure you want 65 in there? Thats fairly high isn't it?" thinking maybe he had not noticed....He basically told me to "F__K off and mind my own business ewhat would a dumb cyclist know" I didn't pursue it any further but the big droney MTs that I have recommend much lower pressures and the ride is far more comfortable at around 30 psi.(drop it to around 15 to 20 when in the soft stuff...) All I could think was "bloody dick head doesn't have a clue- He can go F__K his $1000 set of tyres if he wants to...." And I suspect he probably did as they looked like they were runnung on about the centre 2 inches of tyre...
