Mate has a setup in his house truck that has had the tick of approval. Its those two steel lockable hoops thingies. MUCH lighter than a safe.

I did think of that but wanting something that will protect the rifles and scopes from getting knocked about.

But the reply is not a definite yes or no to your boxes. Very vague answer really as from your question it sort of shows you have done your homework and probably read section 3.2

No it isn't definite and yes I had already read that and been asking around. Unfortunately as always they are being obtuse so all anyone can do is fix something up then hope and pray they accept it

If can store firearms in a caravan, why not allow to store in a secured storage facility? There has electronic fence, 24x7 security measures and big locks. If police could allow this, it really help me a lot.

I must have missed that in the arms act, can you point out which part its under please Micky as it could help solve another problem I might have.

the bit where you talk to local copper and tell him your firearms cabinet is secured in the storage facility...I know of two people who have done this long term in last few years....as has been pointed out...its arguably a hell of a lot MORE secure in a lock up than most houses.

Well, I mean not just store it but can pass firearm officer inspection. I remember I have seen from somewhere not just for once, it said I can `t do that way.

if the bolts and ammunition are stored elsewhere.........

You won't (or should not) get the OK to store ammo in a storage facility as it's a DG and you can't confirm over the course of the entire facility which customer areas have DG's for emergency reasons. Been some horrendous fires at storage facilities in the past where the pops and bangs have been a major concern (people chucking 9Kg gas bottles in their lockups).

Does anyone know if I could carry a rifle for 10-14 days if I was to bring one on a holiday with intentions of hunting at some point of the visit.

The motorhome would need appropriate storage, and I doubt the rental company would let you drill holes in their vehicle.

Regarding it being no different to us transporting a rifle to a range or hunting area, there are new rules around that, the most important in your scenario is you can only leave the vehicle for up to one hour.
