Yeah but try to have a convo with those legends now... odds of hearing aids are high!

Don't deny H&S has gone too far, but a large proportion of it exists for good bloody reason!

Road my motorbike thru there years ago when it was gravel, got caught in a rut and biffed me off, was bloody lucky the bike was still riderable and I was ok.

Yep done the same
Rained 8 days out of ten and the leather bike gloves stained my hands black

No tilt or angle on those dozer blades.no hydrolucs either just rope to lift blade n gravity to lower it. When men were men.

Came through the Pass (1968) on a Suzuki Stinger(125) I was on my way to start the season in the Chambers at the Mataura Works.

yes driven an old cable blade D7 they did blade well

We had two of them when I was a teenager.d7h they were.pretty sure,nah positive we had option to angle blades on them.Dad had contract to bulldoze rubbish at local dump.interesting years when money was so tight.them some punk sugared the diesel tank.i remember helping strip engine down to sort that mess.

yes some were straight bull blade or some could angle on a peg system - bloody hard work swinging the blade around unless one got the knack of using the dozer to do it for you - not many now could start one - used to get strange looks getting up on the tracks with a crank handle to start the donkey motor - but not as many strange look as me old D4 7U wrap a rope around the starter pulley below ones feet and pull

I thought they did as well until I looked at some pics,
Our neighbors had 2 early D8s Bonnie and Clyde that did a lot of work here building ponds for stock.
One ended up at the Cat Museum at Rotorua.

the worst of the old girls I drove was a fiat for some strange reason fiat made the master clutch so it worked the opposite way to a cat dozer - one pulled it back to disengage and change gear and pushed it forward to drive of - bloody confusing - but wonderfull to see those old girls restored like that thanks BRADS
