Ive got a ute master on my bt50 im happy with it. was on it when i brought it. i wouldnt think it would be the cheapest around as i have seen alot worse ( in terms of crappy locking mechanisms ect). The gas struts are working well 3 years into the job. i like the locking mechanism (only one point lock into tail gate). Id buy one new without hesitation.

Quite happy with my Mac one. The central locking is great, far better than my old Ranger canopy beside it which my son now owns. Easy to remove if I need to carry a tall load.

Don’t know about the Utemaster lids, but I have a Defender lid on a 2019 Hilux and it leaks quite a lot in wet weather. I’d be looking for something with better weather sealing than the Defender if you don’t want your gear getting soaked.

This leaking is made worse when the tray is lightly loaded as it slopes to the front so water pools rather than running out.

That's good to hear as I am looking at hard lids myself so might cross that one off the list ...
