    Hilux Corner lights keep breaking!

Does anyone else have a 99-06 hilux that keeps spitting out its corner lamps/indicators? Starting to really irritate me, we have two of them, both 2005 and between them they have been chewing through corner light units, they're not cheap either for genuine ones at over $300 each time.
The design fault is in the plastic tabs that should hold them in, they just break off and the bloody things fall out.
Is there an aftermarket alternative that's cheaper/stronger? Going over accounts and one truck has had over $2k spent on bloody corner lamps in four years.

those style bullbars offer no real protection, you could "invest" in something more robust, see how the the bar comes around further and out from the side a bit.

They're not breaking due to getting hit they just randomly break off, I think the record was about a week and one broke off. The trucks are used 98% of the time off road so they are subject to quite a bit of bouncing and vibration but they should surely be designed to take a bit of abuse

in that case the vehicle has hit something (see lack of protection from current bullbar) that has bent either the bonnet or front wheel guard out of shape that puts too much pressure on the housing. Road vibrations from the surrounding body panels is pushing on the light breaking it.

Must be a common fault that only effects your two hilux's

Hilux's that don't just get used for trips to countdown...

Edit: sorry, I see your hilux has also been on the odd trip to "SexyLand" Adult Megastore....

Best trick now is to bolt the new lamps on with rubber washers either side of its mounting surfaces to stop the lamp housing from being a stressed member, they will never break again

Gaffer tape them in? Not pretty but a cheaper paint fix after, compared to those lights
