    Hunting vehicle maintenance

Driving to work this morning showed my ute was due for a bit of care, extra mud from yesterday had adhered itself to places it shouldn't and it was time for a clean.

Mud on the inside of the rims had put all the wheel balances out and holy heck could i feel it

Ignoring wheel imbalance created many high wear dramas so i was pleased to get everything all clean again

Rocks n mud dried solid and stuck

Who else cleans their vehicle thoroughly after mud etc ?

    And how ?

Parking over a lawn sprinkler, garden hose ?

    Water blaster ?

Any other dramas to look out for ?

I can honestly say I haven't cleaned my hilux since I drove it off the yard.
I do keep the inside clean

    Why no washing?
I treat my truck like a truck, it gets used and dirty, inside and out.But I do wash it.

No real reason, washing my truck everyday doesn't interest me, life's to short for that shit.

My Hilux gets cleaned every service at the Dealers, wasn't much of an issue with the last one every 7500 kms but the current one starts to look a little scruffy with the new 15000 km servicing, just as well its white

At least you have a truck. Ours has spent 2 1/2 months out of last 10 in the shop. First time was a cockup you may remember and now the local Mazda Garage have had it for last 4 weeks after the check enginge light came on. After a week they replaced the ecu and then said the wring loom is faulty and will be 10 days ex japan due last friday and now informed me today it is currently "lost in transit" AND I suspect it wont fix the problem either

When i live in the city I keep the little town car pretty immaculate.

But I got 10kms of dirt RD between home and the nearest sealed rd... Washing the Landy would just be an exercise in futility.

Farm trucks (06" and 11" hilux's) get a bit of a tickle up with the high pressure hose before service/wof other than that we never touch them, have experinced the same where wheel balance is up the shit due to mud inside the rims but the next big bump usually knocks it off or I drive through some more mud to even them up a bit.
My personal truck I try to keep clean, give it a full wash every time its been taken hunting/offroad and keep the interior clean, I tell myself I wont drive it on the farm but then its so easy if im driving down the road or driveway to say "oh, I will just duck down there and turn on that pivot" etc, and despite my best Colin Macrae impersonations trying to dodge all the wet patches, cow shits, etc it never works.
