    Importing a car from Aussie

Has anyone here imported a car? I'm looking at a late model Nissan Patrol and just roughly looking I could save 50% on the purchase price (plus have literally thousands of vehicles to choose from) rather than buying here.
What costs do I need to allow for when bringing it over?
    Cheers

$2400 shipped and VIN. PLUS GST on purchase price
The GST decreases the longer you have owned it in Aust.
I did not proceed as 12 years old it may not have passed emission testing so would end up with a lot of Landcruiser parts
Real guns start with the number 3 or bigger and make two holes, one in and one out

Thanks Madjon, I got a quote from Brissy for 2300$ so lines up. The EST $5000 GST is a hard one to swallow but after all that I would still save 30% roughly.

    Cool

But you only paid $7500 for the vehicle and have a written receipt from the owner

Have a look at the import regs on the Nzta site. From memory and depending on its age you'll need to consider Exhaust emissions, frontal impact compliance, whether it's needs stability control to name a few. It has to go to a compliance centre on arrival and pass before it can be driven (unless you're a recent immigrant i think)
