Mid Size Mid price Diesel 4X4

Just starting to look at something to replace the Xtrail nice suv and worked well in Aussie but want something for the riverbeds and NZ hunting, would prefer a diesel, low ks (under 80.000km) and under 30K looking at the Mitsi Challenger and the Jeep Cherokee, needs to have good road manners as well, any other mid size trucks to look at?

Have an option on a 2010 SWB Pajero 3litre petrol with only 9000k's anything dramatically wrong with them? I took my brothers old model (1994)up to McCauley hut with no problems, just don't want to spend $30k on a pile of junk.

Nor West be careful when considering a Jeep. I think they are great but fuck they are expensive if something goes wrong.

But in Spain they're rebadged as a Montero or "Mountain Warrior"

Among my mates, I know of more Toyota's shitting themselves than Mitsi's!

Between me and the olds, we have owned about 10 pajeros, all done 250+kms, only one had issues and it was my last one which got a dose of dirty fuel which meant I needed to replace inline filters and flush the system a few times. Like any vehicle, with good maintenance they should do you well.

How many times did they win the Paris/Dakar rally? Like 15 times, 7 in a row, and 19 times in the top 3. Not a bad record if you ask me.

They were an "evo" version of the standard version. I had a 98 evo pajero for a bit, just a standard 3.5V6 but with a few factory mods to increase KW's. Went like a cut cat for a "truck" though

The newer pajeros are fine, the challengers have the most problems.

Each car has its pro's and cons though
