Been trying to get info on a solar boat. Seems like this might be a thing of the past until they can get stuff from Russia.

Yeah, weird. Looked a fortnight ago at their website. Same old website as always.
Looked again this weekend and flash new all singing all dancing website...but won't answer a text message re availability ???

I see there's a 4.2m one on tardme for sale down south.

@XR500 how long ago on tardme? Or is it still there, can’t see it

Was there on Saturday night, had the word Solar in the blurb, and no, cant see it anywhere. Wanted 25K but was on a galv trailer. Had only had it a little time, so most probably been snapped up.

Oh yip, saw that one. Sold for 28ish at close of auction.
It’s a shame the price given the hulls are only 2k as advertised on the solar site, that’s some hefty NZ mark up

Just had a call back. Sold their last boat 2 weeks ago. Container was due to leave Black Sea port 2 days after the invasion, so Solar are trying to get the container freighted to the East coast, as those ports are still operating fine.

Did they give you a price?

That's the base model (in USD). The additional transom struts, polyurethane armour etc etc adds considerably to the cost (so I found out). So may take the cost ex factory to 3-3.5K USD sitting in Russia. Then freight, shipping, customs, profit etc will bring it down to a realistic price...

No...thats up in the air ATM...not unexpectedly

Mid last year when I first enquired it was 10ish K for the top spec hull only

@XR500 all boats from sib river (awa) are sold too, so no stock in nz by the looks until …….. dunno
I guess this is why the ones that do come up on trademe are selling quickly for more than new prices
