    mitsi swb

Just sold wifeys ranger as I have a 2018 auto low ks to last us out , but need a capable 4wd for fishing and running around wellys south coast , odlins track etc , looking at 00 to 06 pajero petrol v6 as only a tank per month and I know they can do it . Any thing to look out for engines etc autos any good , I love super select like a rangy rover and lots of suspension travel . For the record I have owned 13 lrovers/rangis 3 patrols and 2 teranuses over the years so asking the wise ones what to look out for as never owned a mitsi poo . cheers o wise ones

If it says GDI on it then run far and run fast. I’ve had heaps of Pajero’s of different model and they are awesome. Missus currently has a 2008 Swb 3.8 v6. It’s awesome, goes well and all the mod cons for 2008.

I have best of both worlds currently nm pajero exceed lwb 3.2td absolutely pleasure to drive and reasonably capable, and a 94 g16 escudo the wee zooki with only minor mods (lift, 30"muds, winch bar and winch) is so much more capable amazing where the wee zook will go when you consider its got open diffs and only about 4hp embarrassed plenty of trucks 7x what the zook owes me.
I do love the pajero for on road manners, creature comforts (climate air, lsd, cruise control, 7 seater) and towing capacity.

Had a 3litre petrol model no issues getting up to McCauley hut, very capable, that was stock no extras.

Must admit to looking at 2.4 zuks 00 or later I know they can do it , just like the higher ride . But hey we went every in a series 1 lrover with 6x 16 in tires but not to tough these days .

Pajero is good, I prefer a fishing & hunting vehicle in NZ actually has chassis. Have you ever thought about Ford Everest? Petrol engine the fuel economy is about 13L, my friend has one, can do some really off road stuffs, but should be careful if there is `t a safe guard plates underneath, same thing, no chassis.

Well there are V6 Pajs that arent gdi.
The GDIs with their egr setup can foul up the intake manifolds really badly and also have some really dorky micro inline fuel filters that can lock up and cause pain

Yup but the 3.2 diesels can suffer very badly from the egr coking up the intake as well
