Whilst you guys are on the subject of tinned wires, when doing my apprenticeship many years ago I was taught to use 70/30% solder for all electrical gear EXCEPT marine. Wehad to use 60/40% because the 70/30 was too brittle and gave way after a few years with the vibration. The 60/40 is obviously softer but doesn't fracture with boat vibrations. I changed all contacts on my boat and never had an electrical issue all the years we had it.
We crimp most stuff now. The new "safer" lead free solder is shit anyway.
