I was talking to an aussie friend about these the other day. He bought one for 90k, did a couple of mods and then onsold it at a $35k profit. His business runs quite a few of them and they have very good resale value. They recently had one for 6 years, added 160,000kms on it, and resold it for only $5k less than they originally paid for it.
But dang, $100k+ for a work vehicle is a lot for mere mortals, even if they don't depreciate much!
I'll stick with my $6k 1990s diesel manual disco 1. Haha
