a 1KW transducer is a distinct disadvantage when you are mainly fishing shallow as the beam angles are so narrow in 20m of water you may only be looking at 1m of the bottom.

When you pay about the same money you get the same thing like cars.

Simrad is easier to operate (more intuative than Lowrance). I don't particularly like either of them, and to be up front I am totally biased to FURUNO having worked with their commercial gear for more than 20 years. Have you looked at the TZT2 series as with the latest software update they look and operate same as TZT3's but they are cheaper
