    Off-Road Rip & Tear

    G'Day Fella's,

Here is a few images of an unfinished project of mine.
It just needs a days worth of work to finish it off (exhaust pipe and other small things), then strip it down and get it powder coated.

It's called a "Sidewinder Plus" and has a Yamaha XTZ 660cc engine (single cylinder, OHC 5 valve, 5 speed, water cooled etc) and goes like stink (120kmph and 0 to 100 in 5.5 seconds)!!!
These buggy's take a lot of work to built correctly but hey, what doesn't that's a heap of FUN!!!
In hind site, I reckon the Piranha or the Barracuda buggy (with a fully independent rear suspension), would be a better way to go!!!
I went this way, because I picked up the already cut and tack welded together chassis, for $100.00.
At the time, that was a $900.00 (and a heap of time and work), discount!

Check out www.edge.au.com for more details.
You can purchase the plans/drawings and make it all, or the pre-cut parts and weld them together, or a rolling chassis!
    Your choice???

    Doh!

    G'Day Fella's,

Tussock, the perfect engine in a Piranha or Barracuda would be a KTM 990cc V-Twin!
Lots of Torque (most important) and no shortage of RPM but pretty light at around 50 Kgs!!!

Timmay, no time for a beer unless it is in one of those bladders!......?

    Best Wishes for 2012
    Homer
