I fucked up my Tardme auction setup and ran an auction for 7 hours :wtfsmilie: instead of 7 days so she went cheap...:XD:
So i consoled myself by replacing her with a '09 CRF450R...

All I can say is, wow, :D bikes have progressed shitloads in the intervening 25 years! Looking forward to some excellent trail rides.:thumbsup:

This was once considered to be the dogs nuts by some, my brother included. He bought and restored it.

Well done on the new bike. Have you been airborne yet? These later models are capable of back flips.
$4.8k and somewhere just over 100 hrs. It's had at least three top end rebuilds by a guy who raced it from new. It has more than enough life left for me!Quote:

Massive upgrade haha. Have ridden a mate's 09 CRF450 a few time's, Even with a bung leg I felt safe on it, Could tractor it along like the old 4stroke's, Apply the throttle and it responds well and goes like a cut cat up top, Easiest 450 ive ridden.

I had an XR200RD till someone nicked it. After 5 years it was valued at just $50 less than I paid for it new.
Just keep those oil and filter changes up to date, ie every 10 hours or less, and she should be good. Also make sure she's warmed up properly before you fang it down the paddock!
I hear that. I bought 2 oil filters on the way to work, want to keep on top of the maintenance. The response with the EFI is awesome, and the thing even has a malfunction indicator lamp that will flash trouble codes, I'm hoping there wont be any...Quote:

Clean air filter fitted after every race
Oil every 5hrs
Oil filter every 10hrs
Valve clearance check at 10hrs then every 50hrs From there
Valve replacement - When needed (up to 200hrs or less)
Piston/rings replace at 100hrs
Crank rebuild at 200hrs (or less if need be)
Clutch inspection every 50hrs or less
Lube cables, Lube steering bearings, Lube rear linkage at 0hrs then every 20 - 30hrs
Front/Rear suspension service (oils/gas) at 5hrs then every 50hrs after
That's a short guide from memory of a mate's bike's servicing. 07,08,09 and 2010 RMZ250's and 2013 CRF250R.
