    I've ended up with intake leading edge about 15mm above the keel, seems to be optimum for my hull and motor combo. Once I'm up on the step, she only needs a couple inches of water. I think a purpose jet can't be beat in terms of hull shape, but the outboard has it's place because it takes up no room in the boat.

    That's the perfect reason to have one. Do they suffer from weeds as bad suppose easy to tilt and clean out ?
