all depends on servicing and condition - be wary of bikes with high mileage of dairy farms - hard on guads its rust especially frame from shit and cow pee not regularly washed of - quads do not have a big life -and its the way they are treated -15-20,000 k might be a quad with problems but then again - look for a service history if possible -second hand parts should be relatively easy to get but if that frame is starting to rust out you have real problems - try to get one under 10.000 K

2000hrs is about 20000km. we find things start going after this.
With a new honda at $23000 now the second hand market makes your eyes water
They are after 3.5k which is close to my budget.

Not used on a dairy farm

Air filter oiled
New tow ball
New front back diff seal
New rear tray
New muffler fabricated
New front tyres
Obviously all BS until checked by someone who knows their shit (not me)
3 words receipts receipts receipts - if they have proof they were a great little quad - the only serious problem was a weak rear diff - might pay to check shocks and the front steering bearings - if they are flogged will handle like a dangerous brick out house
I picked a tin tank 4wd up for $1k. Goes really good, has definitely been used though. $3.5k it better be real nice! That's a lot of cash for one of those.

If you are OK with a mig it isn't hard to cut rust out and plate a chassis in one of these, just reinforce it properly. Electrical system is pretty dicky if it's been used in crappy conditions all its life but you can strip everything down and rebuild them. I did it with mine, not worth it to pay someone to do it but I had time and it kept my brain going while getting farted about by WorkAON as ACC manager. Took a long time as working on it as I could with the injury but times like that you need a project! Now have a 100% reliable push button and it starts quad, so worth it...
Bloody good quads the old tin tanks.
That price is probably doable if everything has been done like they say and they can prove it and it is actually in really good condition
Have a look at T/M listing 434153408, finishes today, will give you some idea of the market for a tidy looking bike. I have a 94 TRX300, had from near new. Can be fought over when I leave this land, only 350 hours and 4000 km.
