With regards to experience with tyres, I have never had Coopers. But I have had such an awesome run with a set of Kumho KL71 MT tyres that I would automatically have to put these at the top of any list I would consider.

As for the existing tyres, do what I did and get a second set of (steel) rims forma wrecker that fit your truck, and fit the MUDs / Offroads to these. It is not hard to swap a set over and it is very handy to have a complete spare set when you need them. Then if I am doing a long road trip or towing I get the road set on, and if spending heading off road or expecting to see slush I flick over to the Muds.
