Right we owed (owned)a Jag like this.
Pros
Could corner like nothing else I mean man it was just wicked held like shit to a blanket!!!!!
Very comfortable inside, like sitting in your arm chair, our the one you want to sit in but can't cause the dog our wife has stolen it
Very comfortable ride nice and heavy on the road as in not edgy like it wanted to go elsewhere.
Could get away with stuff because your driving A JAGUAR

Cons
Petrol bill we would get 400miles to the tank. Petrol. Automatic.
Broke down repair bills is what killed it in the end.
We replaced the transmission once and then that engine light came back on we chucked in the towel.

We brought a BMW 318 2009 station wagon.
Touch would no repair bills just the usual maintenance.
Fule bill nearly 1000miles diesel automatic.
Heated seats
Drive is ok not as comfortable as the jag though.

Sorry no experience with Mercedes.

I did drive some 1017 in Africa but I don't think that's what your after.
