the dairy farmers now have closed cell foam mats that go on concrete pad..they are about a hundy bucks each and have serated interlocking edges..I picked one up on side of road,it lives on floor of boat..keeps my feet and the dogs bums warm, much nicer than cold alloy... it also dampens sound. really need to find another one so can do whole bottom of dingy. as they are about 20mm thick they really are good for this job.would be emergency bouyancy in event of SHTF too.
