I used lineside auto in rangiora.... Sure need to open your wallet wide but they did a good job on my 80series putting a safari snorkel on.
Put my own on my mu years ago, wasn't rocket science and worked till I parked it in a river to the wing mirrors overnight...
DIY is the way to go to make sure it is done right. Otherwise you are just never sure if they properly sealed it. To an extent you can check by sealing off the intake.
There are only three types of people in this world. Those that can count, and those that can't!
Choose the snorkel you want then simply ask the panel beater to do the panel hole cuts (and seal) then you fit the snorkel yourself.
I did that so only had to pay for their limited time; jiggling it in and through myself took the time but saved heaps.
Hawker Supplies do good cheap snorkels

Scott at Opposite lock is very good quality operator.
You will need to seal all the electrics on a petrol engine if you intend to do any deep wading where a snorkel is needed. At least the current headlight intake keeps you to a water level that a petrol engine can handle. Diesels are far superior for wading. The guys at Lineside know what they are doing. I fitted an Airflow to my 94 Surf diesel myself. Easy to do and came with paper templates to drill all the holes in the right place first time.
Doing it myself is out of the question. Don't have the tools or the time as working overseas and the missus keeps the truck ticking over whilst i am away.
Cheers for the info, I will check out Lineside and Opposite Lock when I am next in town.
