Happened to us a couple of years ago.
We put a game camera up in the tree nxt to the tank.

They came back, we got some excellant photos, which were put in the local paper.

Perps were recognized and arrested within a week

In our case it turned out they were selling the fuel so an additive would have just stuffed someone else's gear.

Additive can be a good idea but remember when your gear is parked up overnight the favor could be returned in retaliation.

If you're buying fuel off some bottom dweller with a heap of old drench containers full on the back of their ute you probably deserve to have your gear fucked also

Yes it does an awesome job. AdBlue is highly corrosive and in most cases everything it touches needs to be replaced. If the vehicle it is in is run until the engine stops then the whole fuel system needs to be replaced, sometimes the engine will need to be either rebuilt or replaced. Usually can get away with a fuel tank flush as they are now plastic. a $10k repair is not uncommon.

I heard of a situation years ago where a guy was getting firewood stolen. Put up with it for a while. Then decide to find out who it was.
Put a detonator in one of the huhu holes and plugged it up.
A while later his kids came home from school with a story about someone's fireplace blowing up.
    Gotcha.

What would happen if you were mixing water with the diesel?

What would happen if you were mixing petrol with diesel?

Petrol in Diesel has a similar result to AdBlue but not quite to the same extent. Usually can get away with a fuel system flush but once again if the engine has been run until it has stopped then a lot of fuel system parts will require replacing, although it really depends on the ratio of petrol to diesel.

I believe water in diesel will just make the engine stop and not much else although the fuel system would still need a flush out.

It was more where it was left and if they had just taken the diesel and left the containers it would have been oh well shit happens, to be honest haven't check the machine yet. which was all locked up including cab.
