In the old days in colder countries petrol was sometimes added as an "additive" to prevent the diesel from freezing by the way...

I have an old Holden Rodeo. 550 plus kms on the clock. In the winter I'll occasionally put a couple of liters of petrol in it. Goes like a rocket.

That thing runs on just about anything. Jet fuel, kero, and even petrol to get him home.
