50mm is nothing. Generally they settle down a bit after a while as well.
Last kit we fitted was around $1600 (from memory) just for the parts then a good days labour to fit it all.
Safari snorkels I think are around $600 + fitting.
There is a guy from Kelford Cams (Phil) that sells a bit of 4wd gear on Trade Me. Sells Gibson Airflow snorkels for $389.
And Mudstuck (also on trade me) sells cheap snorkles for $79-$249.
