    Suzuki escudo cpu

    Hey team.
Follow-up from my last post when I managed to pour water through the closed sunroof and in through the dash.
I made a claim with insurance as the cpu stopped working (ODO, trip etc) immediately after this.
I took it into a local auto electrical place about a week later who took it apart and couldn’t find any evidence of water in the dash. Insurance has subsequently closed the claim and said that it was just a faulty part that just happened to crap out at the same time as water happened to go through the dash. Just bad timing.

What are my options? As this is where I read the ODO I am assuming that it will need to be replaced/repaired. Is it a dash replacement? I am not sure if it is the CPU that’s faulty or if it’s just the LCD screen?

I have had so many dramas with this car it’s doing my head in.

Buy second hand dash cluster from wreckers and get it fitted in.You may have to change details to land transport on rego for cluster.

2nd hand unit or send to Robinson Instruments in the NI or we've used Elite Auto Electrical as well for dash repairs.
They can also flash 2nd hand cluster so odo was same as original.

Depending on how you go with luck it might just drop straight in, or like my bloody ranger fight every step of the way and require an automotive sparky and an automotive locksmith using 4 different scan tools and 3 extra pieces of software to get everything talking again. Still chasing down cooked sensors that the fried PCM/ECU module took it in it's fit of rage.

Match it as close as you can vehicle for vehicle and cross your fingers...
