    underpowered, uncomfortable and uneconomic. off road they are great and go just about anywhere, onroad is a different issue as they ring their guts out at 100k

    Sounds like they haven't come very far from the 1970's Suzuki Jimneys. Mine would go absolutely anywhere, but if it was too steep the passenger needed to get out or it would run out of ring ding dings (2 stroke 530cc engine. Soft top, bloody noisy, sitting on 5 grand @ 95kph, doing 22mpg (13L/100km for those young'ns out there.

    I fixed that problem in my old 2003 Jimny with a bottle of nitrous, well until I made some extra holes in the block.
