I'm looking at a container in a paddock, out of my kitchen window. In that container is a Hayabusa. Its probably a 2008/09 model? I remember roughly when the neighbour bought it.

I hate that machine, and I'm none too fond of the guys that give them the berries on public roads. Twice we've come close to a catastrophe with that bike, both times exactly the same thing. Our little road has a short straight, from the exit of the corner at the beginning of the straight, to our driveway is 120m, with the corner exit cresting a blind rise. When you pull out of our driveway turning right, looking left is clear, right is clear, look left again, go.... as you're about 3/4 of the way into the lane, suddenly out of nowhere there's this fucking orange 2-wheeled nightmare trying to go from 180kmh+++, to 0kmh, over about 80m.

Giving a machine like that full throttle on little NZ roads with ordinary folk conducting their business at ordinary speeds, is an exceptionally selfish and unreasonable pastime. I don't much care what happens to the the rider in circumstances like that, its the collateral damage to those that he involves in an accident entirely of his own making that gets to me.

I've seen a few riders really give it a go on SH27 in the past, mostly straight and flat I know most will say, but shit road surface. and usually late at night but by the time you seem them they are on you or pretty close to it and bloody hard to tell distance on a single light doing well over the limit

You are right @Flyblown. There is a time and a place to unleash a Hayabusa and the situation and place must be right for all involved which should only be the bike and rider as there shouldn't be another road user for miles around.
However don't hate the bike mate, it's a bit like those evil AR rifles it all comes down to the user.
A few dickheads give the machine / weapon a bad rap.

Yeah good point @viper. I've focussed my aggravation on the metal. But believe me, the rider got it too.

Most of them don't do it for long before they start spending a lot of time with elderly people or worms.
