In the engine bay. Will have the engine code from factory and a quick google of the code should bring up the engine details.

Yep 4age 20v blacktop. Great engine. Has slightly bigger itb's than the silver top. Drove a lotus 7 copy a little while ago with one of these in it, and holy shit did it move

I wouldn't know if the blacktop is factory. but that engine series "4A" is factory for the AE111 model pictured so if its been "re-powered" it has been replaced with the same type of engine as the original. wont cause any problems with insurance.

It was standard in those at one stage - whether that was the engine originally in that particular car I have no idea.

Thanks for clearing that up for me ., Her scruffy hairy arse mate who she says is a mechanic , has told her its a super boy racer motor 1JZ or something like that . And because teenagers know everything ! , I need hard evidence to back up my opinion .

If it has been swapped, then the swap was just for a different version of the same 4AGE engine.

It sure as hell isn't a 1JZ, 2 cylinders short for a start!
