    Toyota Hilux dipstick

    Hey fellas, got a 1983 Hilux 2L-T with no dipstick? Can anyone tell me what length/where should the markings be for me to make one? Not sure if this engine is the same as same age surfs etc

    Give an oil change with the specifyed amount put dipstick in, mark high level.
    Or get one from a wrecker

    The 2L was used in quite a few Hi-Aces too and I'll bet the dip stick is the same. Wreckers will have heaps as the body work of the Jap imports rusted off well brfore the engines packed up. There is one round the road that specializes in wrecking them if you want be to find one and send it down.

    Thanks guys, found another (similar) hilux and made one using its measurements

    Na they are different, repowered my ln106 with a low k out of van.

    Sorry that is 3l I am talking about but van engines have different positioning of things like oil filter,dip stick,some intake manifolds etc to fit em in.
