    Toyota's New Sales Plan

    Toyota is fucked then.....

Massive savings for Kiwi car buyers under new Toyota plan | Newshub

Salesmen wont make commission for selling, finance guys can't up-sell warranty or service plans, dealers only get a handling fee, PDI's and accessories getting done at point of entry so workshops lose out there too.

Hmmm can't see it working well in the long run.

Trust it to happen after I line up a Mitsubishi rather than a Toyota, this change could have put the hilux in the running price wise

Depending on the dealer and the person or company buying them tho, @mikee was saying our local dealership wouldnt budge off of full retail? and lost the sale as a result, ten k off of that is a great saving and will improve private sales a huge amount I would guess.

Yep and their Arrogant Ass attitude pretty much means that I will never ever buy a cor off that dealership...........opps I mean salesroom or whatever.
I would drive to Blenheim if I want to buy a Toyota but so far its Holden all the way here

There will be one price for private buyers and another price still for the rest, farmlands, landcorp etc etc. It will be the good salesmen who will miss out. A mate of mine that works for a toyota dealership as a salesmen recons the wage is crap its only the commission that makes it worth while.

Yeah the pricing is 1 price for retail, 1 for fleet owners gst registered, and 1 for rentals.
The only ones that will make anything from a new sale will be TNZ. Dealers are almost cut right out of it.
Dunno how the sales team will make money. They got a shitty retainer and had to rely on commission to make any money. Now they'll be on a wage or salary which dealers wont want to pay as they not making anything to cover that.
Prices will have to be dramatically reduced to keep customers and attract new buyers.
Problem is people want a personal touch with the 2nd most expensive investment they'll make (next to their house), and making it an order online then pickup like a chinese takeaway will turn people away for sure.
