    Transoms

Got a 20” leg on my Sea Nymph, can I fit a 25” leg motor on using a made up bracket transom extension? Or do I go the full Monty and build the whole bloody transom up? Gotta be a simple answer????

Stick with a 20” motor. Save a lot of hassles as I have seen long leg o/b’s fitted and there is invariable a problem with the owner being left with a motor no one is happy with.

I dunno much about fiberglass boats but have built up a few alloy transoms including the old mans one to go to the 25" leg....do it properly and build the whole thing up I recon.

    New motor?

Its only 5 inches Higher! if that causes balance problems you already had them before.
Its about getting the powerhead up away from the water and increasing trim control.
