Got a 20” leg on my Sea Nymph, can I fit a 25” leg motor on using a made up bracket transom extension? Or do I go the full Monty and build the whole bloody transom up? Gotta be a simple answer????

Wouldn't suggest it.
Good explanation here -
25" outboard on 20" transom - The Fishing Website : Discussion Forums
Stick with a 20” motor. Save a lot of hassles as I have seen long leg o/b’s fitted and there is invariable a problem with the owner being left with a motor no one is happy with.
I dunno much about fiberglass boats but have built up a few alloy transoms including the old mans one to go to the 25" leg....do it properly and build the whole thing up I recon.
New motor?
Yep looking at a new 4 stroke, but most are 25”, seems the way the world is going?
Having engine higher cause balance probs, I realise about getting the height right with cavitation, trim etc
What about a ss the bracket with a 5” gain bolted through existing mounting holes with studs for the engine and plated to look nice?
Is Sea Nymph still in business ? if so talk to them if not talk to a fiberglass boat builder.
No he peddled drugs and went to prison, now lives as a recluse in a holiday camp. Dick!!!
Got a couple of Buccaneers here for sale
I’m going off this idea!!!!:wtfsmilie: but will talk with my boat shop
