Didn't have the camera handy, but was just down buying one of those 10 minutes to eat ice creams at the Kinloch store, and a dude turns up on a Triumph Rocket 3R....with a wee bit of extra plumbing on the left hand side:wtfsmilie: 2.5 L 3 cylinder donk standard at 165hp, this one with associated plumbed in supercharger now spits out 300hp at the rear wheel....:omg::omg::omg:
Don't know if the grey hair was from test riding it....or for having to work so many years to afford it:D
Years ago I heard a loud bike down at the bottom of my driveway, so I wandered down to see a one armed man needing some tools to adjust something on his triumph rocket.

I ride a 1500cc 6 cylinder chrome bike but I had the opportunity to deliver my brothers Rocket for him...320km from dealer to his place and a detour to work for a shift...comfortable but I found the 165 HP a bit 'twitchy' as the throttle was far more responsive than I was used to....
Glad I had the chance, but now that I have, not sure I would want one.....How does the old saying go? Never meet your heros......?

yes be an interesting ride but having owned a later model Triumph I would wonder how the Triumph bits are going to handle that extra power - my experience with the 900 triple I had was never to be repeated - one problem after another - traded on Honda CB 1300SQuote:

The new ones look fantastic.
A good friend of mine in aussie had one if the early 900cc trumpy triple. They had a model with a gearbox issue which his one falls under but it never failed. It's in his lounge lol.
He thrashed the pants off the next model up. About a 2004? Couldn't kill it
the early 900 triumph triples had a serious problem with the starter motor ( sprag clutch ??) and to fix it required the whole motor to be pulled down - now there were Meridan Triumph and Hinkley Triumphs depending on age and which factory triumph nuts will know what I mean - so a 1971 650 Boneville first of the 5 speeds ohhh yes love one - first of the late model new factory 900 triples if the starter motor has not been done nah
Yup that's the bike he has Barry.
In a very rare example of leaving it too late ( the most extremely organized, capable and focused individual I know), he didn't get around to getting the parts kit to repair it back when they were available. Possibly even dealer fitted.
Apparently not so much anymore
At least that is what he thought.
It does make a nice ornament in his lounge lol. It didn't blow up, it still works
