Hey team,
I'm needing a new set of tyres. Currently have Cooper at3 4s.
I'm looking at falken wildpeak at3 or at4. I'm rotorua based. Where's the best price to get them? Currently looking around.
Or any other suggestions on tyres?
Cheers bevan

If you have enough tread to hold off until hyperdrive have one of their 40% off sales (they have them fairly regularly), that would be my recommendation.
After a lot of reading I recently had a set of wildpeak at3s on my hilux.
265/65/17 $385 each in Timaru.
Just brought a set of BFGs 265/16/70s ATs.$530 each fitted and balanced on the patrol. The price of one is cheap till you times 4 Ochh.Good tyers tho, take me where I want to go,get about 70k a set. They get hammered on rivers and tracks.Quiet on the high ways.
I've had the maxxis razr at on for 15k now and really like them. 265/75/16 $520 each fitted at my local.
I did quite a bit of research recently and found that hyperdrive prices seemed to overly inflated and only come down to market value when on special. For example, Falken wildpeak AT3w 265x65x17 $520 on hyperdrive not fitted and i paid $365 fitted and balanced locally in Taupo a few weeks ago.
I got multiple prices and found the smaller private stores seemed to be significantly cheaper compared the the franchise/chain stores.
Defintely shop around and get some prices
@madmaori on here is your man. Great prices and service. In Napier
Also what's the difference between the 112 and 116 versions
The number is the load rating. 116T is standard 4wd load which I brought. The higher the number the higher the load rating, more ply and stronger side walls. Better to go higher if you're river driving on sharp rocks. Often the higher rating will have LT at the start of the size.

Also had another thought. Yokohama geolandar g015, thoughts?
Also apprently the falken wildpeak are out of stock on most places, they've brought out a new at4
What size are you running mate?
Those Cooper AT3 4S aren't really worth the $$$ , way better off going with a a light truck construction.
Falken is a really good piece of rubber , I always get a bit nervous when a new pattern comes out , especially when the old one went so well.
Shame prices have gone through the roof, I priced 35" BFG muds the other day....$820ea. Have gone up big time.
About 18yrs ago I got Coopers sts 275/75/16 for the patrol, think about $450 a tyer.Got a 100000ks out of a set.Good ks for the hammering they got.Went to buy the next set of coopers 3years later, wooow over $650 each and that was about 15yrs ago.Went back to bfg's.Had a few sets of bfg's on the patrol now.Good all round tyer I reckon and priced ok.Bugger paying $820 each for big muddys tho.
The BFG's that come on the new Raptors are dog shit , been built to a cost obviously to get them on those utes....hopefully the rest of the sizes don't go the same way!
Tyres have gone up massively right across the board , there is still some good buys in some brands but the well known ones can be pretty horrendous......little old NZ gets pretty screwed
I don’t know what Mickeys are worth now but I had the ATs on my Hilux, 17”.
Sold the Ute at 100k and the tyres had done 94,000 kms over 5 years and still had 6 - 7 mm tread on warrant sheet just before I sold it.
Look after them and they go for ages. Quite aggressive for ATs but still quiet on road
Yeah, I drove a demonstrator one still on factory rubber on a day that it had just finished raining and I was bloody surprised at how loose it was on the road on the BFG's. The rangers used to come out on Dunlop Grantrek AT22's - nothing flash and pretty expensive new but I've been quite surprised with the run I've had out of them and I'm serious about that. They have decent grip, passable off road including on clay and mud if you are sensible and careful, quiet and reasonably well mannered on road and for wear and I've been getting north of 75,000Km's off a set before they are close to warrant failure. That and you used to be able to pick up a set of near new take offs for $50 a corner still on the factory rims... I have two sets sitting in the shed - it will see out my Ranger and I had the plan of getting a set of muds to put on the last (original) set of factory rims so I could swap over if I needed more grip for a job. I haven't needed more grip yet.
