Tyres - Maxxis AT811 vs Kenda Klever RT

I'm currently looking for some new rubber and trying to decide between these two (in 265/75R16)

I've found some previous chat on these from a couple of years back. Wondering what the current consensus is on them.

I remember Kenda as being a 'cheap' brand of bicycle tyres in the 1980s, so have that image in my head, but reviews are good and they look appealing.
Maxxis on the other hand seem to be easier to source...

Use will be primarily on-road (as commuting), with the occasional venturing off onto shooting related fields /mud.

    Thoughts all?

Ive run the Kendas on my ranger in 285/70/17 for the past 4-5 years and have about 60,000km. Without a doubt the best tires ive run, i had Yokohama g003 muds before.

The kendas are pretty quiet on the road, wagon feels well planted and handles well in the wet, mud, sand and river bed work has been a breeze. Side walls are solid and they air down well.

Unsure on the pricing for them at the moment as i got them when they first came on the market. Ive always found Maxxis pretty highly priced for what they were.

Ute does 70/30 road and offroad.

I had Kenda Klever rt on mhy Pajero, they were great offroad but I found them pretty noisey on the road. No issues other than that on the road though.

Dont know about the Maxxis, I replaced the Kendas with Bridgestone.

I'm running maxxis and so far been great. Another tyre worth considering would be Falken wildpeaks.

I’ve been very happy with my AT811s. They haven’t lasted quite as long as I would have liked but that could be my driving..

Im running the kendas very happy with them nice & quiet but I don't know if I'll get 60 out mine iv do 30 so far & looks way less than 1/2 my brother put the maxxis on & he's very happy with them the kendas are a bit more open. When I bought mine last
year the maxxis where $700 dearly for a set so to me it would come down to the price I would think you would get more kms out off the maxxis tho

Currently on a pair of the Maxxis tyres, seem pretty quiet now they have done a couple of thousand km and have worn slightly

Previous set was a pair of AMP terrain attack AT and got 83,000km out of them on my hilux. They were bloody good but couldn’t source for my size this time around. Workmate also has them and wearing very well too. Should be a bit cheaper than the maxxis and kenda

Yeah we run them on both our vechiles, fantastic tyre off road and very predictable.
Getting low now on one vechile but has done 50, thou of heavy towing I guess that's not bad.
The AT811 would take some beating.

I just ordered a set of the Kendas today to replace my Maxxis. They look good so figured i’d give them a go and see if I get more kms then I did on the Maxxis

Im at 60,000 on mine and have 10mm tread left all round.

Get a wheel alignment and rotated every 10,000, youll be set for 80,000km

I've had both, and sold hundreds of sets of both when I had the tyre shop, and a result currently have the AT811's on all 3x of our vehicles.
Kenda for the first 30-40,000kms were fantastic, then as the tread got down they generated a lot of road noise, and slowly became less predictable
Maxxis AT811 im on my second set on the Prado (72,000kms first set) and genuinely do not have a single complaint about them. I run the 10 Ply variant

First drive on the new Kendas today. Definitely noisier on the road then the Maxxis. They are a bit more aggressive though. Nothing further to add from one drive..
