What are your tyres there VC.
Mate it's a old nanas car! Penises are well gone by then! Indicator stalk is the biggest hard on in them!:XD:
Those tires are an old original hilux fitment I am told so slightly bigger rolling diameter than standard but skinny road tread, on it when I got it but cheap as chips because everyone took them off of their hilux and either put a 31inch mud tire on or 20 inch racing tires :wtfsmilie:
205 16 bridgstones, grip pretty good on road wet and dry but squeal when pushed which annoys me.
Yeah, I've had two of those. I have no penis issues either, but don't take a bend on the road too fast or you won't be on it for very long :)
Well I have owned a standard ln106 hilux, which rapidly became a highly modifyed certifyed 4wd.
Then a 80series landcruiser with tripple difflocks, relativly standard minor lift 33s extra boost and intercooler.
And now this totaly standard bar tire size. It is the epitomy of what I used to laugh at......but It just makes sense....I drive a couple of k to work a couple of k to launch dingy(only reason I need 4wd or awd if I am honest)
So it does everything you would expect of a nanna car but it allso goes bloody well on road, had a spirited drive with a BMW mini over the rai and wangies the other day and it certainly didnt discrace itself, the landcruiser would have had no brakes by corner number 4 driving simarly and I had compleatly rebuilt them at great expense TWICE in the time I had it.
The way it stops is unreal after oversize mud tire vehicles, goes round corners good too not a sports car of course but still.
Soft road/off road is where it gets interesting tho.
Deep water, extreme climes are out....no snorkle no low range, but that goes for a lot of things...Amarok?
Its on struts so it does not articulate very well but most utes these days are torsen bar or strut front ends and rely on the arse end leafs to articulate.
No limited slip diffs(I think, havent looked just drive it)
No traction control.
ABS, good on road, exciting but shit off road.
So as an No road vehicle obviously not ideal but when you compare to all the modern 4wd utes in particular in stock standard form it would embarrass a few of them in some situations.
Things in its favor are, bloody brilliant approach, breakover and departure angles and a mint one with service history is only 3 grand vs 60 grand and one is more inclined to throw caution to the wind and bury the welli to get threw a tricky bit in a 3 grand car than a 60grand car.
Gear carrying is not a strong point but they do a LWB version
