    I think it only sucks dust in when the side windows are closed since the air normally comes in the side windows and blows out the back. Not much use if you want to keep stuff dry though with no back window above the tailgate

    If the opening, even if quite small, is in the front, forces air in and semi pressurises the space, and prevents dust coming in.
    Learnt this from trying to avoid red dust entering in Aussie.
