    Question Waimak Jetboat hunting newbie...

Hi team, me and a couple mates looking to take a jetboat up the Waimak gorge and do an easy-ish meat hunt. As I understand, we can launch at Woodstock, head up the gorge then blat up to the DoC land being either the Broken River block on true right, or Oxford/wharfdale area near Salmon Creek on the true left. From there we just park up on riverbed for evening and go for a stalk. Any tips for our trip?

FYI - we've done plenty of j-boating and hunting, just never the two together

Take a long rope and a good stake for tieing up, river is pretty low at the moment.

My boy got stranded and had a 3 hour midnight walk back to his truck, his girlfriend wasn't impressed.

Don't know exactly where they got stuck though but needed farm access to reach the boat which luckily was granted.

I doubt it but they both tell a good story, it was bloody funny they way they described it. Even funnier than when they got stuck at Kina the week before and had to leave the boat for high tide the next morning.
