Dishwash liquid cause I'm cheap.
I use the rainex stuff that works with rainex windscreen treatment. That stuff is gold, really good. Pain in the arse to apply though.
Best is the Wurth additive.
But Bars Bugs is very good. We use both at work.
BB is very good in a spray bottle to clean the glass and wiper blades. Use a 100% concentration for that.
But in the w/screen reservoir use 25ml/L of water
Wurth additive for me
Wurth is wurth it.
Another for Wurth....their citrus based one is a winner.
I read to use acetone on a rag to clean yr wiper blade rubbers, tried it on an older set on the Ute, worked well
Sorry to hijack the thread but I get a nasty film/growth on my windscreens. I normally use bars bugs but have tried lots of products. Attachment 241458
It shows up really bad when there's sunstrike.
If I'm too cheap to buy bars bugs I use spray and wipe
A shot of meths
I'll get some off the Wurth stuff & see how it goes thanks guys
When I bought my current ute last year I drove it down from Palmerston North and when I got off the ferry in Picton it was getting dark and beginning to rain, Despite the windscreen looking clean I couldn't see a bloody thing especially when lights approached me, stopped in Kaikoura and got a bottle of this stuff and it cleared it up straight away. Turns out the detailer at the dealership had got a bit carried away and waxed the bloody windscreen which explains why no amount of plain water was taking it off. Have kept up using it and found it really good.

Pacer products are pretty friggen good. Also recomend the vehicle wash (grapewash) biodegradeable aswel.
Products are top notch and cheap.
Also run RAINX once its washed for 5 mins work water beads off
$1 at most intersections in bro-town gets you a reasonably clean windscreen and a heads up on whatever else you may fancy…..
B
Anything with worth or 3M on label
Doesn't matter what it is works for its purpose
That mitre 10 link I'm gonna try
Rain x does work better than replacing wiper blades - the windscreen treatment job
No mitre 10 south of chch carries it???
the spray foam type cleaners work pretty well to get the stuff off. Also got some stuff same as we used in the open cut in the washer bottle. Thats not too bad either but have to go and have a squiz in the garage as I cant remember what it was. Its purple and I think i got it from BNT
Been using Handy Andy for years. Just don't use too much. Half a cap.
I use this stuff when my washer bottle is empty its 5L capacity so i just dose the washer bottle with 200mL of this stuff and fill the washer bottle to the top works a treat and 4L bottle lasts years
every 6 months when i wax/polish my car normally polish the glass aswell all windows and water beads off for afew weeks at least on the windscreen lasts longer on side windows because no wiper, also use good wiper blades not tridon nasties

I find road film best removed with a handful of wet fescue type grass from road side.
