I mentioned to a Lab person that I might have got the wrong breed for my 2nd dog and he thought I had finally seen the light until I said at (field trials) I only had to stand on the bank and say 'fetch' whereas with a pointing breed (or spaniel) I had to follow the dog down the course. Much harder work.
