    22 tactical

Team Elb and his masked mate Matt are thinking of running a 22 tactical rifle event on the same farm as the high power rifle event was held .

distances from 25 to 250 yards - unlike the last event where we move as a group this event would be a team team event walking from position to position spotting and scoring for each other .If you dont have a partner you will allocated one one the day -- each team would time and score for each other ....honestly !!!! the reason is to move teams through faster so all are constantly shooting.
A range of target positions from prone kneeling and standing .

A must for this event is you come prepared -you must get out before this event and evaluate you rifle dope from distances I will advise .
Numbers will be limited also to around 20 people -22 ammo is cheap which is great but to achieve a high score wont be easy !!!

Were sounding this out so let us know thoughts of who would attend

    event to happen in oct/nov

yes , Is that for Harry's one Gille ? I thought this would be great for the Auckland region shooters or from afar as a inexpensive shoot that to be honest will be demanding in a shooting sense and for those who don't walk enough. I could see more 22lr events happening with not as much neighbor disturbance happening which high power guns have caused us once before

Heh heh heh... a little birdy may have mentioned that someone is running a 22LR field shoot in Rotorua the day before Harry's shoot...

22LR shoots are great though. Cheap targets, cheap ammo, easier to set up, easy to run, juat about everyone has a 22LR. There should be more of these shoots going on!

I like the idea of them but it would mean taking a dialable scope off a real rifle buying 30mm rings to mount it to 22 zeroing validation and then take it back off and re zero on real rifle to go hunting.
Fine if you already have a good scope on the 22.

In saying that I have shot magpies at 180 plus using hold over and subs.

I am going to use a cheap scope with a mill dot -zero at 100 and check dot to distance and not wind the turrets

I'm interested, so long as the dates don't clash with anything else.
As a side issue is anyone else having a problem with CCI hollowpoint subs going supersonic? Had 1 in 5 doing it today.

Have you tried it out yet El B? 1Mil = something like 4MOA, so if your scope has 5x MIL dots below center that would be 20MOA. My subsonic 22LR takes 28.5MOA to be bang on at 200m from a 50m zero...
