I'm just wondering if its worth going? The 'Amnistice in Cambridge' at Karapiro lake to celebrate VE day every November have an antique arms show. Usually there's at least a dozen tables but last November there was only two. Hope tomorrows show isn't the same.

I was there in the morning. Even without the register I'm not surprised not many rifles were selling. The prices of the few interesting things I saw were fantasy. It seemed to me to be a theme of bayonets, knives, and rifles being well over what I would consider market value - I've reviewed all the prices obtained in the last few auctions for things I'm interested in and I saw pieces 50-100% higher than what the same has been selling for. I'm also very sure most things on the selling tables wouldn't even get close to the prices on Trademe with a much bigger customer base.

Case in point a good (but not great) condition 1943 Mauser K98, $3900. No bayonet or sling. I don't doubt that was still lying on the table at the end of the day. I'm up for a haggle but come on...

I picked up a few small reloading pieces I thought were good value but didn't even bother having a yarn about bigger items.

I've always wondered if these types of punters have been told by their better halves to move some stuff on, but butter the wife up with "I'm selling a few of my rifles hun", slap the big price on and then get home with it unsold "no one was interested...I suppose I'll keep it for now"
"That is ever the way of the Highlander. He alters like a clear pool to every mood of the sky, so that the shallow observer knows not how deep the waters are."

Yeah, went along for a look and would have bought a shotgun if it had not been an activating event. Also, a spare magazine that would have been nice but no......... I think I can resist temptation until after the election.

Was nice to see ACT with a stand.

wonder what the deal was with the brand new 270 marlin barrels for $50 was. Was tempted to buy a new 243 barrel to put on wifes rifle as she finds it a bit to much shooting it for to long
