Tweed or not to Tweed that is the question
Hi el borracho, I have to admit I have not been to this place. My nerves are not up to the Auckland traffic. I will try to be up there before all the mothers taking their children to sport hit the road.
I would say you have the right Church the maps shows it is tucked up pretty close to Mt Victoria on a sweeping bend Albert/Victoria Roads.
It will be good to see you.
Damn I wish I had seen this thread yesterday Scribe. I would have offered you a meal and a bed.

And I damned well would have accepted your kind invitation too Rushey.
As I was badly traumatised by the drive up to Devonport. I ask you how could anybody live in that ratrace
I had several bad experiences. My map said shortly after the big bridge I would have to make a right turn that would take me to Devonport. Well being a forward thinking gentleman I got myself nicely tucked into the right hand lane ready to execute. Well fuck me there is a whole motorway full of demented looking creatures going the other way and no sign of a right hand turn. At the last minute I spot a sign saying left turn exit for Devonport. With a deft piece of driving I manage to cut across the other lanes and make an undignified exit from the motorway.
I am just recovering from that and up comes a dazzling array of lights. The one I was looking at I swear was green but it may of had a tinge of yellow in it, thinking about it. Then it was red and I had far too much momentum up still to have any hope of stopping. It was an exciting few seconds as the traffic broke like quail from the sight of the big bullbars of the Toyota bearing down on them.
If they had a camera set up at those lights I expect I may I may receive a hefty fine in the next couple of weeks.
I sold buggar all books, a few coffee table books was all that mob were looking for. I was so looking forward to the sight of another human that if El Boraco or Barefoot had have turned up I would have given them a free book each. Still I went up there really to support my old publisher.
Good on ya Scribe. I'm glad I don't live near the rat race.On the few times we go to the city Palmerston North I get the Mrs to drive. I hate bloody cities.

If we had known you were giving books away we would all have put on our best camo and come to the big smoke...I drive in Auckland the same way they do in my backyard.
Which is worse, ignorance or apathy...I don't know and don't care.
Getting in the right lane to turn right off of the motorway. Classic Scribe. Next time you are heading this way give me the heads up and I would be well pleased to host your stopover.
