My old man flew aerobatics for 30 years, now just photography trips in ultralites. He went to plenty of his mates funerals at that aeroclub. IMO he likes Flying as a hobby 'cause its exhilarating (because it's fundamentally dangerous statistics be damned). I once asked him why He never went into helo's, He said "ever tried to glide in an anvil ?"

Me - I trust motorbikes over aeroplanes. Swimming with sharks over aeroplanes. At the bottom of the list is helicopters but man they were fun to haul ass in the infantry, sure as shit beats walking.

Keely used to fly the helicopter and manage to shoot deer whilst doing so, back of the head would be a piece of piss if you didn't have to pilot as well!
