Bugger, I won’t be out of covid-jail in time. Would have made the trip down otherwise.

For @nzspearo and @tac a1, quarantine facilities have just been sorted, complete with comms and cooking facilities:

A bit more kindling on the bonfire...

Have a fun boys n girls, If I didn't have a prior engagement I would of popped up for some drinks, laughs & bullshit.
A very nice night in good gompany.
Thanks XR500, and it was nice to meet the rest of the reprobates.Attachment 211667
A bit far for me but always worthwhile these get togethers.
A bunch of GC's getting together and discussing stuff they like to do with room to move on hunting outcomes and group size shrinking as the night goes on.
Wankers get sorted pretty quickly and as a rule generally don't tend to come, certainly not twice.
Good on you @XR500 for hosting the event.
Yes, an enjoyable evening and morning, thanks @XR500
Yep. Choice evening and morning with good company. Thanks guys and xr500 and the damsel.
Great get together, best bonfire I’ve seen for a while, some good discussion, no politics or religion was a change. Thanks Simon, that’s a bloody long driveway, when you’ve had a couple.
Well done Simon and his lovely lady.
Would recommend it if Simon would like to repeat or someone else do similar.
But this location hard to beat.
Good company met some new good buggers.
Anybody will come away learning something new.
Not sure about Co2 from under a volcanic lake.
Taupo Kinloch house prices will plummet.
@onya reckoned it got down to 2C but fire was good.

That's a bummer only just saw this post. Would have loved to head up. Could have brought me air rifles and a few thousand pellets for a bit of group target plinking.
Oh well. Hope all had a great time.
Sounds like a good nigh, did @XR500 perform any dozer tricks?
Seems a lack of energy is a problem for a while, mum went for a run yesterday and right now is sleeping, very unusual for her. I’m finishing putting new carpet in the boat, prick of a job:O_O:
No. I hid the keys to the dozer to myself so I didn't do anything silly with witnesses around;)
Yep, was a great catchup and able to put faces to names was useful.
Happy to offer up the place to do it again...possibly just before we all head bush in March for the roar?
Sounds good to me. Hopefully this bloody covid rubbish will be done and dusted by then!!
Only just saw this as well - but have had the family out with a severe viral thing so would have been silly to go. Not covid but this one seems just as catchy. We seem to have missed Covid so far but got everything else - kids have been off school for 7 days each and the wife isn't very well to boot...
I feel that chainsaw, I flattened one with a tip truck. In my defence I was in the cab at idle at the time, and I had no way of knowing that the young fella had put it behind me while the handler was loading. Still you feel like a dick when you hear that plastic crunch!
Had to go for a walk to work off the calories of the evening.
Back in bed at 2 this morning after a nightmare carry back down the creek to the car.
The phone GPS doesn't like it when my hands are covered in blood.
That doesn't look like an orchid? ;)
You sneaky bugga :)
