Wouldnt miss it....
We will have our night vision nz booth there.
Hope to get to this one. But having just shifted house plans are a bit fluid
Be there Saturday, then SCI dinner that night in the city.
Yep looking forward to it. Missed last year and need a new range finder.
wouldnt miss it
I ll be walking around
Absolutely! Always looking for a bargain & a burger
I will be there both days catching up with suppliers & customers :)
Are we grown up enough to have a beer tent yet?
Yep, first timer, going both days, never been able to go because of work..now retired...can't wait!
Still at the same place?
Saturday at the moment.
To be honest the wife is the one who really enjoys it.

For those of you that hunt the Central North Island, take a quick look at this DoC supplied Map. You will see it on the wall in the DoC booth at the Sika show.

You should notice something is missing. Something that is still marked as a legal road on WAMS, complete with Crown title over the alignment.
Waipakahi road.
Something that, when I looked last year at their website, DoC had as one of their key goals was to foster access and use of the Conservation estate.
I rechecked a few minutes ago. There is now NOTHING in their purpose and outcome statements covering off the Publics' use of our public lands. Its all 'conserve this, consult that' etc etc. Quite a change that I had heard nothing about. Funny that.
If I was attending the Sika Show, I would be letting the staff on that site know I was not impressed with their boss'es attempts to reduce access to Public Lands. I would also go and look up the ACT booth, and let Nikole know whats happening re DoC actively engaging in reducing the public's access to public land to go hunting on.
I’m going Sunday for the first time, coming up from the Mainland & looking forward to it
to the extent that the use of any natural or historic resource for recreation or tourism is not inconsistent with its conservation, to foster the use of natural and historic resources for recreation, and to allow their use for tourism:
Taken directly from Section 6 of the Conservation Act 1987 - outlaying the responsibilities of the Department.
Seems pretty clear - and hard to misinterpret (by accident, at least) to me.
I'll be cruising over Sunday with my son, will be his first time.
I am going this morning, first time, hopefully some bargains to be had
Nearly there!

For those going please share photos and feedback if possible please for those who can't attend.
Measured a lot of Sika over 170DS & plenty of monster reds, most from over Gisborne way. No photos.
A few companies missing from last year and id say a few more will pull out after this year. Some stands were choke and others were dead.
Huntech had some huge discounted items and a few others had some good deals.
No steves wholesales this year.
And some retailers are there own worst enemy
By lunch time it was pretty choke and didn't help with effpos going down
No pictures sorry
Some of the shops it was a mission to buy stuff and walked away - despite the stall being mostly empty.
Big lack of knowledge of from some staff in their products.
I still spent $300 on lots of little bits wanted, the bush skinning/butcher demo was really good and all my mates agreed we’ll be going next year hopefully get a few heads all the wall.
This was the poorest head on displayAttachment 262417 nice smile!
Went there yesterday morning. Was a well set up and presented expo, but there was some noticeable players/retailers/NZ manufacturers, missing which was a shame. I too was searching high and low for Steve's wholesale who were not there.
Some nice stalls set up selling their gear, but these were mostly clothing brands and firearms wholesalers selling rifles and branded swag, plus lots of stalls with safari hunts, clubs, conservation, safety, etc. which were interesting but had nothing to sell and not what i was there for. Massive lack of ammo, reloading components, etc. for sale and not many deals to be had across the others. Possibly down to a sign of the times?
Plenty of ACT National politicians there pounding the flesh too who also had stalls there.
Seems like Saturday was really busy, which may have gobbled up a few of the deals/gear.
Glad i went, had some great chats with some of the stall peeps, had a very long fondle of a Glacier Rifle Co Carbon Stock which I am eyeing up for potential purchase, but am ho hum about if i will bother driving over next year.
Went yesterday morning. Not a lot of people there but that made it easy to get around. Not impressed with the bag search on the way in.
Went Saturday. Gutted I didn't see Ridgeline there, I wanted to buy one of their woodland camo hunting belts, missed out last year.
