The 2017 Tarata Medium Range Precision Event is held on a property outside of Tarata, in Taranaki. This event will be held on the 25th of November, 2017.
This is a great event for hunters and medium range target shooters alike. Competitors will complete the course in squads of 3-4 people. Competitors can enter in one of two classes – open or hunter.
The open class course of fire involves 50 shots spread over 10 shooting stages. There are typically multiple targets at each stage and the target distances vary from as close as 20m out to about 600m. The hunter class course of fire utilises the same 10 shooting stages but will only require 30 shots. Most of the hunter class stages only involve a single target and target distances vary from as close as 20m out to about 350m. We will allow calibres up to 300WinMag.
There will be at least a couple of stages that will have an unlimited round count (within the stage time limit). So if you are competing then bring a few extra rounds!
Entry fee of $40 per competitor is required to be pre-paid to confirm you entry. Non-shooting spotters or spectators are allowed but first priority goes to paying competitors at the BBQ!
There are limited entry spots available. You need to specifically contact me to confirm your entry and pay your entry fee. If I don't know you and you want to come along then expect me to ask a couple of questions before confirming your entry. I'll be trying to balance the make up of squads to ensure there is a mix of experience levels in all squads and to ensure you have realistic expectations so there are no surprises.
