Yes I hope we are wrong. Always sad to see sniders and Marty Henry’s selling for such poor prices.

Canterbury Antique Arms ran a very good auction about a month ago.
It was well run and low key
The arm officers were only interested in B and C cat items.
So it can be done
I think the main limiting factor are a lack of people who get involved in clubs now.
Plenty want to show up and buy.
Or show up and complain about the world.
I sent the committee an email complimenting them on a well run event and encouraging them to continue.
One reply was that it was the first possative email in 3 years
I think thats a big part of our problems
You’re right there. Us firearm owners can be a cantankerous lot occasionally and are apt to complain if something isn’t right, but many of us take little time to recognise the efforts of others. I think I will follow your lead in future and make the effort to send a thank you to event organisers.
I'm trying to take the policy " if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything"
Sometimes its hard !
But there are lots of clubs only just hanging in there and they rely on fewer and fewer active members.
I've done my stint as a volunteer for 26 years as a fire fighter.
I'm not intending being a front line Antique Arms volunteer, but will help where I can to make it easier for the ones who have the time and energy to do so
But I will call out the guys who complain about everything and have never done a thing themselves and never will
